An internet dating story that is still beginning in Thailand
Internet dating and matchmaking has been a growing force on the internet since 1999. In recent years, this internet phenomenon has evolved into an exciting new industry and interactive media outlet for users worldwide.
In 2005, two Irish businessmen embarked on the development a network of worldwide internet dating sites designed for the 21st century. The concept was to offer more live facilities, entertainment and a range of social services.
Both Joseph O' Connor and Tony Fitzpatrick teamed up that year, having each come through a relationship breakdown; they believed that internet dating could be a force for great good in the world, not simply a matchmaking service. They called it the 'LoveLines' concept.
After a short holiday in Thailand, they decided that the Thai internet dating market and Thailand itself was ideal for development of the first Lovelines.com dating site. That year, a Thai company called AtlanticThai Internet Co. Ltd. was established and in 2006 after purchasing and developing offices, near Muang Thong Thani, in Bangkok, it began developing ThaiLoveLines.com. This Thai dating site was trial tested in April 2007 and launched officially in June 2007. ThaiLoveLines.com now has nearly 100,000 members and is the No.1 dating site in Thailand.
ThaiLoveLines.com is today operated by AtlanticThai Internet Co. Ltd., a Thai subsidiary of an Irish company employing 7 people in programming, service and accounts. The site is still under development and this is being achieved with input from an expanding list of members.
ThaiLoveLines.com aims to meet the need for an expanding dating and social networking site that has high standards of content and personal service. The Thai dating site aims to avoid any obscene or overtly sexual content setting out to create a secure and open environment where members from Thailand and around the world can meet. The site has already been successful in forging hundreds of genuine relationships. The ethos of ThaiLoveLines.com is one of honesty and transparency.

'We decided to start with ThaiLoveLines.com on a holiday to Thailand but our concept is a worldwide one,' says Tony Fitzpatrick, Marketing Director. 'That said we'll be quite a while getting this site right where we want it before we move further.'
ThaiLoveLines.com is currently recruiting more support, programming and marketing staff as the ThaiLoveLines.com site expands and the LoveLines.com concept is developed further.
